Etiam, Leda volebat me suggerere:
“Macdonaldus senex fundum habet E-I-E-I-O. Et in hoc fundo nonullas boves domesticas habet. E-I-E-I-O. Cum moo moo hic et moo moo ibi. Hic una moo, ibi una moo, ubique una moo moo. Macdonaldus senex fundum habet.”

Yo! Philly!
June 24, 2006 on 4:15 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 Comment | Written by TobyA great part about NJ is that is lies close to two major metropolitan areas. For us, NYC is about a 40 minute drive, and Philly is also close by at 90 minutes.

So we popped on in to see the Andrew Wyeth exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art today. Leda enjoyed indentifying the many items in each of the paintings (so it helps that he’s a realist; I mean you see a Picasso and say, “Leda, do you see the dog?” which has 3 eyes and a nose on the top of his head. She then looks at you a little funny). Then she enjoyed running around the park after a picnic lunch. Next year we’ll get her to run up the stairs on the east side of the museum and jump up and down, a la Italian Stallion. Stay Tuned.
Back to the Beach

We took a little trip “down the shore” this past weekend. We had some beautiful weather and were at the beach every day. Leda got a chance to play with her uncle Raybird (”caw caw”), aunt Pat, and cousin Erica. She went into the ocean at low tide to play in the waves, and she enjoyed swimming in her kiddie pool (inflatable raft) when it was really hot. We also took a ride in the boat and put the new motor through its paces. Check out the photos from the weekend.
Sushi for Me

Actually, we’ve been going to a our local sushi place with Leda since she was 5 weeks old, but more recently she’s been participating in the meal. The gyoza are clearly her favorite, but she also likes the sweet potato rolls. On occasion, she’ll try some tuna. She loves the fountain in the restaurant, and the waitresses there love to show her around the sushi bar. She’s not too clear on the chopstick concept yet, but we’ve got time yet.
Take Me Out
June 11, 2006 on 8:05 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments | Written by JennToday we got to hang out with some cool folks. You know how exciting it is when you have “couple friends,” and both of you like both of them, so any permutation of people can have a decent conversation? Now we are truly grown-ups, because we have “family friends.” Leda and her school friend Lucas enjoyed their first baseball game today as the Somerset Patriots took on the Bridgeport Bluefish. (Bluefish were up, 8-2, when we left in the 8th inning.) And, their parents had a great time too. Jenn tried to keep score but it turns out this is one more thing that is different now. In the photos, see Leda explaining the curveball to Lucas, and our friends Tina and Steve with both kids.
