Leda’s First Fishing Trip
Though Leda has held a fishing pole before, this was the first time that bait, hook, rod and reel, and sufficient small motor coordination came together in a pleasant symphony. With her great friend Sophia, Leda took her first fishing trip to the lake at Spruce Run in search of the wiley crappie and, if she could be so lucky, the prized sunny. After an inauspicious beginning of playing with the fish nets for a long time,

Leda got into the swing of things, working her fishing pole and reeling her line back in. After some fish were landed by the dads, Leda got determined and showed stupendous patience.

Then the critical strike came. After the hook was set, Leda played that fish for all she was worth, working the rod and reel with seamless ease. Her quarry was caught and released.

So, for all you fishermen out there, a young apprentice has joined your ranks, rejoice! For all you fish out there reading this blog, there’s another one roaming the banks for you to fear, *shudder*. Today was a good day. Thanks, Sophia!
